Been excited to post this one! My older sister got her hands on a food processor, so I finally got the chance to try making hummus ✨

The only ingredient I didn’t have on hand was tahini but luckily there was a bag of sesame seeds in the cupboard, so that went in the food processor first to grind down, then the rest of the ingredients were added. Had to do it in 2 batches because the processor is quite small, but it did the job really well 💯 After plating the hummus I added lemon olive oil, toasted chickpeas and smoked paprika on top.

To go with the hummus I made bazlama (Turkish flatbread). I enjoy watching videos of bread making on YouTube and bazlamas is one I’ve seen a few times before, the process is not too different from tortillas so I enjoyed making it as well. Had to play with the heat a few times initially when cooking them so some were a little overdone, and I found that some of them weren’t rising like they should, but the end result was still great 🍞🥴 After each flatbread was cooked I brushed it over with olive oil and parsley to help keep them soft. 🌿

Halfway through the cooking I thought it would be nice to have a few more options to go with the bread, so I mixed plain greek yoghurt with parsley, coriander and lime for a yoghurt dip 🥛 We also had some spicy tomato stew (a Nigerian recipe) leftover and it went perfectly with the bread 🍅🔥

My family and I absolutely looved the spread – Didn’t last long in the house at all! Definitely food I’ll continue to make and reccomend; I’m sure they would go down great in gatherings with friends and family 👏🏾💯
